What changes the price

Number of aligners

More aligners mean a more complex case, more lab work and a higher cost. An Express case uses far fewer aligners than a Comprehensive one.

Case difficulty

A mildly rotated front tooth may need only a handful of aligners. Full bite correction with impacted canines can need dozens of aligners across several refinement stages.

Provider experience

Align Technology places Invisalign providers in tiers based on how many cases they have treated. A tier reflects case volume, not a separate clinical qualification, so ask any provider how many cases like yours they have treated and how many refinements the fee includes. At Paradise Dental Clinic, Invisalign is provided by general dentists who are Invisalign Certified Providers.

Refinements included

Refinements are extra aligners made after the first series to fine-tune the final position. Comprehensive packages usually include them within a set period; smaller packages include fewer, and some clinics charge for each extra round. More in Invisalign refinements.

Retainers

Many providers include the first set of retainers (such as Vivera) after treatment. Where they are not included, a set of retainers typically costs AED 1,200–2,500. Retainers are essential for keeping the result — see how long to wear retainers.

What should be in your quote

  1. Full initial records — x-rays, photos and a 3D scan
  2. The ClinCheck treatment plan — the 3D simulation of your tooth movements
  3. All aligners for the initial plan, however many are needed
  4. Refinement aligners — ask how many rounds are included
  5. In-treatment care — attachments, IPR (smoothing a small amount of enamel between teeth) where needed, and review appointments every 6–10 weeks
  6. At least one set of retainers — and what replacements cost
  7. A post-treatment follow-up

Always ask: "Are retainers included?" — that catches most surprise costs.

For many adult patients, the higher fee buys:

  • Attending work and events without visible brackets
  • Eating normally, because the aligners come out for meals
  • Easier cleaning, with less risk of white decalcification marks around brackets

The right choice depends on the case; Invisalign vs braces in Dubai compares them in depth, and braces remain the better clinical option for some bites.

Cheaper clear-aligner brands: what you give up

Invisalign is not the only clear aligner, and the price gap is worth understanding. ClearCorrect is dentist-supervised and of comparable quality for mild to moderate cases, usually at a modest discount. Newer lab-made or in-office aligner systems are often cheaper again, but they have far less long-term outcome data and fewer tools for complex movements.

Direct-to-consumer kits, with impressions taken at home and no in-person supervision, are the cheapest and the riskiest: unsupervised movement can damage roots, gums and the bite, and nobody is checking whether the aligners are tracking. For most cases the price difference between Invisalign and a supervised alternative is modest. If budget is tight, a supervised alternative through a DHA-licensed dentist is a reasonable compromise; an unsupervised kit is not.

Insurance and payment

Adult orthodontics is rarely covered. Some enhanced plans include a lifetime orthodontic limit, usually with conditions, so check before signing — the Dubai dental insurance guide explains what to look for. Ask any clinic in writing which instalment or card-payment options apply before treatment.

How to avoid overpaying

  1. Ask how many cases like yours the provider has treated
  2. Get the full ClinCheck preview before committing
  3. Ask explicitly which package and what refinements and retainers are included
  4. Treat very low "from" prices in adverts with caution — they usually describe the smallest package, and a case that needs Comprehensive will cost more

When to walk away

  • Provider can't show you a ClinCheck simulation before quoting
  • "Same price for every case" pricing — they're either upcharging easy cases or under-treating hard ones
  • No discussion of retainers
  • Unwillingness to itemise what's included

Common questions

Is ClearCorrect cheaper than Invisalign in Dubai?

Usually. ClearCorrect is a dentist-supervised clear aligner system that is typically priced below Invisalign for a comparable case, and it works well for mild to moderate cases. Invisalign has the longer clinical history, more attachment and auxiliary options, and more tools for complex bite correction. For simple alignment both systems perform similarly; for complex cases Invisalign has the advantage. In either case, the experience and planning of the treating dentist matter more than the brand, so compare complete quotes rather than brand names.

Which Invisalign package do I need: Express, Lite or Comprehensive?

The package is set by case complexity, not preference. Express is the smallest package, for very minor crowding, spacing or a relapse touch-up; Lite covers mild cases with a capped number of aligners; Moderate, where offered, sits between Lite and Comprehensive; and Comprehensive includes as many aligners and refinements as the case needs, for bite correction or significant movement. Because cost tracks the package (see the table above), it is tempting to choose a smaller one, but an under-scoped plan runs out of aligners before the teeth are straight. Your dentist determines the package from the digital scan and treatment simulation.

Practical decision guide

Orthodontics works by controlled tooth movement over time. The best plan balances alignment, bite correction, gum safety, compliance, and lifelong retention rather than chasing the shortest timeline.

Check this first

  • Bite classification, crowding, gum thickness, jaw growth, wisdom teeth, and any history of relapse.
  • Whether aligners, braces, expanders, elastics, or a combined cosmetic plan is most predictable.
  • The retention plan after treatment, because teeth continue to move throughout life.

When to book sooner

  • A child has crossbite, severe crowding, mouth-breathing habits, thumb sucking, trauma risk, or jaw asymmetry.
  • Aligners are not tracking, attachments are lost, elastics are not being worn, or teeth feel unusually mobile.
  • You are considering direct-to-consumer aligners without in-person periodontal and x-ray assessment.

Topic-specific notes

  • For cost decisions, compare itemised treatment plans rather than headline prices. The clinically important inclusions are diagnosis, imaging, material choice, temporaries, follow-up, maintenance, and what happens if treatment needs revision.
  • For orthodontics, compliance and retention are part of the treatment, not afterthoughts. If aligners, elastics, or retainers are not worn as prescribed, the biology will not follow the digital plan.

Questions to ask at the appointment

  • What is the real treatment goal: cosmetic alignment, bite correction, or both?
  • How many refinement stages are included, and what happens if teeth do not track?
  • Will I need fixed, removable, or combined retainers after treatment?

Dubai patient note

For Dubai orthodontic treatment, ask whether the provider is DHA-licensed as an orthodontist or is a general dentist providing aligners, and confirm what is included in the quoted fee.
