Living with your guard in the Dubai climate

One local warning we give every patient: never leave your guard in a parked car or a gym bag in summer. Cabin temperatures here are more than enough to warp thermoplastic materials and ruin the fit. Rinse the appliance with cool — never hot — water, clean it gently with mild soap rather than abrasive toothpaste, and store it dry in a ventilated case. Bring it along to your checkups so we can inspect the fit and wear; a guard that has been chewed through is a sign your treatment plan may need adjusting, not just replacing.

When a guard alone is not enough
