2026 Dubai smile makeover pricing, treatment by treatment

A smile makeover is a plan built from individual treatments, so its cost is the sum of the parts. These are the typical ranges for the treatments most plans draw on:

TreatmentTypical range (AED)
Teeth whitening (in-chair)1,500–3,500
Take-home whitening trays800–1,500
Cosmetic bonding (per tooth)400–900
Composite veneer (per tooth)900–1,800
Porcelain veneer (per tooth)2,500–6,500
Gum contouring (per arch)2,500–4,500
Hollywood Smile (16 teeth)35,000–80,000

Plans that add orthodontics, implants or crowns include those treatments at their own ranges on the price list.

Common makeover tiers

  • Express makeover: in-chair whitening plus composite bonding on the few teeth that show when you smile
  • Mini smile lift: whitening plus 4–6 veneers on the most visible teeth
  • Hollywood smile: veneers across the full smile zone, typically the upper and often the lower teeth. See the Hollywood smile cost guide
  • Full smile reconstruction: veneers or crowns on most teeth, often with gum contouring
  • Full-mouth rehabilitation: veneers, crowns, implants and bite correction combined in a phased plan

What changes the price

  1. Number of teeth treated. More teeth means a higher total, though the per-tooth cost stays within the ranges above.
  2. Material. Porcelain, such as E.max, gives natural translucency on front teeth; zirconia adds strength where needed. Composite costs much less than porcelain but typically lasts about 5–7 years, against about 10–15 years for porcelain veneers. See porcelain vs composite veneers.
  3. Additional procedures. Gum contouring, crown lengthening, orthodontic alignment first, or implants for missing teeth add to the total.
  4. Smile design. A digital smile design with a mock-up lets you preview the result before any tooth is prepared, and may be charged separately. Digital smile design explained covers how it works.
  5. Complexity of the plan. Cases involving bite changes or several treatment stages need more planning and more visits.

What a complete makeover quote should state

  • Consultation, photographs and a scan
  • Smile design with a mock-up or wax-up
  • All tooth preparation
  • Temporary veneers or crowns
  • Laboratory fabrication and a try-in
  • Final bonding
  • Bite adjustment and follow-up visits
  • Any warranty terms, in writing

How to know which tier fits

  • Slight discolouration and minor chips: express makeover (whitening and bonding)
  • Discolouration, spacing and mild crowding: mini smile lift (4–6 veneers), or straightening first
  • Several cosmetic concerns across the smile: Hollywood smile
  • Missing and worn teeth with extensive cosmetic issues: full reconstruction
  • Failing existing dental work and structural problems: full-mouth rehabilitation

Smile makeover timeline sets out how long each tier usually takes, and the smile design page explains the planning stage.

Insurance reality

Cosmetic treatment is generally excluded from UAE dental insurance. Elements with a clinical reason, such as replacing a broken filling or a missing tooth, may be partly covered, so ask your insurer before treatment.

When to get a second opinion

Seek one when a plan is expensive, proposes extracting healthy teeth, stacks treatments that seem redundant, comes with same-day pressure, or simply feels off. Bring the written plan, photographs, copies of X-rays and a note of what you want to achieve. Ask whether every treatment is necessary, whether more conservative options exist, whether the sequence is right, whether the cost is in line with typical ranges, and what lifespan and maintenance to expect. If independent dentists propose similar plans, you can proceed with more confidence; if they differ widely, keep asking until a clear case emerges.

How to avoid overpaying, and underpaying

  1. Insist on a wax-up or digital mock-up before you commit
  2. Check the dentist's DHA registration and ask to see examples of their own completed cases
  3. Ask which ceramic material and which laboratory will be used
  4. Get any warranty terms in writing
  5. Walk away from pressure-to-commit sales tactics
  6. Understand the payment schedule and refund terms before paying a deposit

When to walk away

  • A promise that the work will last a lifetime (no veneer does)
  • Pricing far below the typical ranges
  • No wax-up or mock-up offered
  • Marketing that relies on filtered photographs

Common questions

What is full-mouth rehabilitation, and how is it different from a smile makeover?

Full-mouth rehabilitation restores damaged or worn teeth across both arches for function as well as appearance, often combining crowns, onlays, implants and veneers in a phased plan that can span months. A smile makeover focuses on the visible front teeth. Rehabilitation sits at the top of the cost range because it involves more teeth, more materials and bite reconstruction. The full-mouth rehabilitation page describes the process.

Practical decision guide

Cosmetic dentistry is strongest when the smile plan starts with healthy teeth and gums, not with a material choice. Before committing to a visible change, confirm the diagnosis, preview the result on your own face, and understand what tooth structure will or will not be removed.

Check this first

  • Gum health, cavities, bite forces, grinding history, and old restorations.
  • Whether whitening, bonding, alignment, veneers, or crowns is the least-invasive option that meets the goal.
  • How the proposed shade and tooth shape will look in daylight, photos, and normal conversation.

When to book sooner

  • The tooth is chipped, dark after trauma, sensitive, mobile, or changing colour quickly.
  • You are being offered irreversible treatment without x-rays, gum screening, photos, or a trial smile.
  • You grind at night and no nightguard or bite plan is included.

Topic-specific notes

  • For cost decisions, compare itemised treatment plans rather than headline prices. The clinically important inclusions are diagnosis, imaging, material choice, temporaries, follow-up, maintenance, and what happens if treatment needs revision.
  • For cosmetic work, the most protective sequence is health check, photos, smile preview, trial or mock-up where appropriate, then final treatment. Irreversible tooth preparation should not be the first step in the conversation.

Questions to ask at the appointment

  • Can I see a digital preview or trial smile before irreversible preparation?
  • How much enamel will be removed, and is there a lower-prep alternative?
  • What happens if the restoration chips, stains, or needs replacement later?

Dubai patient note

For Dubai cosmetic treatment, ask for a written plan that separates consultation, scans, mock-up, treatment, nightguard, warranty terms, and maintenance visits. If a clinician or facility is unfamiliar, verify licensing through DHA before starting.
